A Vietnamese dairy company (Vinamilk) has opened a dairy farm with a capital of over 1.2 trillion won (or $ 52 million) in the southern province of Tai Ninh.
The farm, the largest of its kind in Vietnam, covers an area of 685 hectares in Long Han, Bon Chu County. With a herd of 8,000 cows, the farm provides 100,000 liters of fresh milk per day, equivalent to 40 million liters of milk per year.
The farm is also the first to be built in the Vinamilk Thanh Hoa dairy farm complex, which is designed for four high-tech farms with a combined supply of 110 million liters of milk per year by 2020.Speaking at the opening ceremony of the plant, Vinamilk CEO Mai Kiu Lien said her company wants to help the domestic dairy industry develop into a high-tech agricultural industry in Vietnam and Asia.
According to her, Vinamilk also seeks to bring the quality of the local dairy sector to the level in developed countries.
In 2018, Vinamilk launched a high-tech dairy farm in the central province of Thanh Hoa. A 40 hectare farm built with an investment of 700 billion won holds up to 4,000 dairy cows.
