Drabovsky, Zvenigorod, Talnovsky and Monastyrishchensky districts of the Cherkasy region will receive almost 1 million 200 thousand UAH for cleaning territories from pesticides. Subventions for this will go from the regional budget, said the first deputy chairman of the regional state administration Taras Vysotsky.
In general, 7 districts of the region now require pesticide removal measures. Here are stored more than 282 tons of unknown, unsuitable and prohibited for use chemical plant protection products. Of the total amount of pesticide waste requiring neutralization, 85%, that is, 240 tons, are stored in Yerki in the Katerinopolsky district.
“Now in the region, preparations are underway to clean the territory of the region from hazardous waste of pesticides,” said Taras Vysotsky. This year, the first four districts out of seven in need will receive a subvention from the regional budget for the implementation of measures for the disposal of pesticide waste in the near future.However, it is clear that Yerki have the greatest need for the disposal of these hazardous wastes. The regional state administration has already sent a request to the Ministry of Natural Resources for the allocation of 12 million 240 thousand UAH from the state budget for the disposal of 240 tons of pesticide waste stored on the territory of the Erkovskoye UTO.
Recall, according to the current environmental legislation, measures to ensure the seizure, disposal, destruction and neutralization of unknown, unsuitable and prohibited for use chemical plant protection products (pesticide waste) can be carried out only by business entities.
This is provided that they have a license from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Natural Resources) for operations in the field of hazardous waste management, including the collection, storage, transportation, disposal of waste pesticides and herbicides that do not meet the standards, have expired or not suitable for the intended use.
Exporters who have received written consent (communication) from the Ministry of Natural Resources for the transboundary movement of hazardous waste, in particular pesticide waste.
