This morning, on Wednesday, May 15, the largest agricultural and food event of 2019 opened in Northern Ireland - the Balmoral Show.
Over the next four days, it is expected that more than 120,000 people will visit trade stands and livestock exhibitions.
At the event, which takes place in the Balmoral Park, near Lisburn, visitors will be presented both an ordinary farm and various family entertainment, and in addition, over 650 trade stands are offered for inspection.The Balmoral Show attracts top-quality cattle that competes for valuable prizes and prestigious Balmoral Championship titles. Demonstrated livestock is represented in classes of various farm animals - from cattle, sheep, pigs and goats to poultry and rabbits.
A children's farm shows an abundance of cute, plush animals. Children are given the opportunity to keep, pet and even feed the small animals provided by Ark Open Farm. Visitors also have the opportunity to meet snakes, tarantulas and many others from Mantella. The goal of the children's farm is to introduce young visitors to strange and amazing animals from around the world and the popular Zoo-to-you interactive games.
The Healthy Gardening Site will entice and excite enthusiasts with its greenery. Beekeepers Ulster and CAFRE will provide interactive areas, as well as grass and wildlife gardens. This section of the exhibition aims to promote all aspects of the horticulture industry and can be a peaceful place away from the hustle and bustle of the show.Visitors will also be able to see various competitions in sheep shearing and wool processing in the shearing pavilion, and on Thursday, May 16 there will be a traditional Day of Young Farmers, which will show women's football and a game of tug of war on the castle lawn.
In addition, street artists await the guests, who will amuse them with their colorful costumes and funny antics.
