Kubota, a Japanese manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment, has introduced a new tractor concept called “tractor X” or “dream tractor” for its 130th anniversary. The novelty is equipped with artificial intelligence, powered by solar panels and lithium-ion batteries, with variable clearance and many other improvements.
According to Kubota, artificial intelligence should guide the concept based on various indicators, such as weather data and crop growth rates, in order to choose the optimal mode of operation at the right time.
Kubota's concept can provide complete offline field management.
50 years ago, Kubota introduced its first tractor concept at the 1970 Japan Osaka World Expo (Expo 70). The tractor, which at first glance looked more like a car, contained advanced technologies.
Data from one tractor can be automatically transferred to others to achieve efficient centralized operation.
In order to be able to ride in difficult terrain, the tractor is equipped with four tracks. The machine can change the clearance. In jobs requiring high traction, traction increases due to lowering the center of gravity of the tractor. And when processing high crops, its height increases.
For information, the first Agrirobo tractors that can work autonomously were released by Kubota back in 2017.
