Caused by climate change and soil compaction, the decline in productivity in the Western and Central regions of Brazil has significantly increased the country's demand for penetrometers.

An increasing number of Brazilian farmers are faced with the negative result of many years of plowing - re-compaction of the soil and its plow sole. This caused a growing need for the use of an automated system that measures soil compaction over large areas - one of the most popular elements of precision farming.
The Government of the country and, in particular, the Ministry of Agriculture, in every way encourages the use of precision farming. To support farmers practicing this method, a special SVAR consulting program has been created, which currently has over 200 representative offices throughout the country.
A penetrometer is a device designed to measure the density of soil layers, to determine the plow sole and compaction in the soil. The task of the device is to determine the resistance of the soil during the introduction of its tip into the soil. With the help of such a device, problems associated with soil compaction are identified, and the depth of the bottom of the soil is also determined.
