In order to completely eliminate the likelihood of the virus moving such a dangerous disease as foot-and-mouth disease into the habitat of farm animals of the Republic of Bashkiria, experts from the region’s veterinary services tested cattle on almost 60 farms in a dozen Bashkir regions.
The check is carried out by competent employees of the Federal Office for Animal Health. It is noteworthy that the samples taken from animals were subjected to serological monitoring, which allows you to carefully examine the blood serum of cows and other representatives of cattle.
Employees of the department studied more than eight hundred samples taken at Bashkir farms. As a result of scrupulous analysis in the laboratory, it was possible to establish that antibodies to specific FMD proteins were not detected in the blood of Bashkir animals. This was reported by the press service of the regional administration of the Rosselkhoznadzor in the Republic of Bashkiria. It should be noted that a little more than a year and a half ago, in the fall of 2017, representatives of cattle and small cattle were infected with foot and mouth disease virus in two regions of the region at once. Then, animals in the Buzyaksky and Tuymazinsky districts suffered from the action of an insidious disease.
Presumably, the virus then entered the Bashkir stalls from certain regions of Central Asia, and in order to localize the pathogen and minimize the risks of infection and the spread of foot and mouth disease, the Rosselkhoznadzor workers destroyed more than one and a half thousand cows, sheep and goats taken from the farms. It will not be amiss to add that before the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in 2017, the virus did not disturb the animals of Bashkiria since 1977.
