In Russia, the cost of onions is increasing at an impressive rate. For clarity, we note that seven days ago the price of this culture was as much as 11% lower than today.
According to market analysts, in most Russian regions the cost of onions varies in the range from 15 to 20 rubles per kilogram package. But just a week ago, Russian housewives acquired the same volume of onions, stacking a maximum of 18 rubles.
“The thing is that there is much less good onion that farmers can offer consumers today than the market requires,” experts explain the situation. - That is, there is a bow. Moreover, its quality is high. But farmers cherish this product until the so-called better times, in order to sell it more expensive. In the meantime, onions in storages deteriorate, but even poor-quality farmers and marketers manage to sell at a high price, since consumers have, in fact, nothing else to do but agree to at least some onion. As a result, low-quality onions at an inflated price, which is not subject to long-term storage, are in the consumer basket. ”
At the end of 2017, the cost of onions was lower than the current one by more than one and a half times. Analysts are confident that in the future, prices for this product will only increase. Farmers themselves confirm this information.
