Sika deer is grown in the Transcarpathian village of Iza near the town. A large shield, installed at the turn to the farm, announces the presence of a unique object.
A unique farm was opened in the village of Iza in 1987. Tourists from all over the world come to a small village to see them.
The main purpose of growing sika deer on a farm is to produce medicine from their horns. It is used to treat neurosis, hypotension, neurasthenia, from overwork, with weakness of the heart muscle and to increase efficiency.
Both in Soviet times and now, these raw materials for medicines were expensive and made good profits. Now it has become cheaper, but the farm is now positioned as a tourist attraction.
The farm grows 300 sika deer, very peaceful in appearance. However, they do not like to be touched and stroked. Animals instinct for self-preservation, and they can kick strongly with their front legs. According to the animal wardens, from such a blow you can fly 15 meters.
To look at deer, you need to pay a symbolic price on the farm - 30 UAH for adults and 20 UAH for children. A bucket of pet food will cost 5 UAH, for a group of tourists it will be free.
