Such preliminary forecasts about the yield of grain crops this year were announced at a meeting of the Committee of Grains and Oilseeds of the European Business Association by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vladimir Topchy.

According to Vladimir Topchy, over the past ten years, productivity from 1 hectare has increased by 1.8 c / ha. From this year we can expect a corn crop at a record level of 35 million tons. This year, corn will occupy a dominant position among other crops. Soybean harvest is projected at 4.5 million tons, sunflower - 14 million tons.

Vladimir Topchiy said that if in the past it was customary to consider a harvest of up to 10 t / ha, then today this figure exceeds 14 t / ha. The highest crop yields were shown in Vinnitsa, Cherkasy and Poltava regions.

Recall that, according to experts, in the 2019/20 marketing year, Ukraine will be able to export 4 million tons of barley. This season, barley export sales are projected at 3.9 million tons, said Nikolai Gorbachev, president of the Ukrainian Grain Association (UZA).

According to his forecasts, the production of barley in the new season will be at the level of 7.5 million tons. In 2018, its production reached 7.395 million tons.
