Currently, there is a collapse in prices for white cabbage in the Ukrainian market due to mid-ripening varieties of vegetables being sold. Now the product is sold at a price of 3-4 UAH / kg, the Info-Shuvar analysts said in a statement.

Today, the cost of white cabbage in Ukrainian markets is 35-40% less than in early July 2018.

In the first month of summer, prices for cabbage in the country were constantly fluctuating, because due to precipitation, the collection of vegetables did not always go on time and the supply was more or less. At the sites of the wholesale market of ORSP “Shuvar”, the highest prices for white cabbage were in the range of 6-7 UAH / kg in the second half of June.

In the first days of the second month of summer, prices fell to the level of 3-4 UAH / kg. According to experts, in July, the cost of cabbage often falls, since in the middle of summer products begin to arrive on the market not only from Transcarpathian and southern farmers of Ukraine, but also from the Central regions.

This increases supply, and lowers vegetable prices. Typically, the lowest prices for white cabbage are observed in early autumn.

It was previously reported that in April 2019, depending on the region, prices for white cabbage of a new crop ranged from 40-43 UAH / kg. Such high prices were formed by a sharp increase in the price of old cabbage, which was sold in supermarkets at 30-32 UAH / kg.
