New forecasts show that by the end of 2020, the Aberdeen-Angus cow breed will become the most popular in the UK.
The number of registered animals Aberdeen Angus and Aberdeen Angus Cross continues to grow from year to year.
The figures show that last year they accounted for 17.49% of the total meat production and it is forecasted that by the end of 2020 this figure will increase to 20%.
The Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society has stated that this puts the breed in a strong position with a leading share in the national livestock of beef cows.

Speaking about the breed and its current situation, the President of the Society, Paul Jeans, said: “At present, we breed and sell more cows to the market when we recently flirted with the status of a“ rare ”breed.
As a breed, Aberdeen Angus has recently taken some great steps, and the market is showing increasing interest in the breed. The popularity is due to consumer demand for Aberdeen Angus cattle, which is known for its taste and juiciness. ”
“We must continue to create our breed and brand and protect it by providing the necessary guarantees that the beef labeled“ Aberdeen-Angus ”on the label is genuine Aberdeen-Angus beef,” said the president of the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society.
