A'Spik Group (Khmelnitsky region) completed the sowing campaign in all planned areas despite the changing spring weather.
Sugar beet, which is a strategic crop for the corporation, is planted with nearly 2.2 thousand hectares, the company said.
In addition, A'Spik Group sowed barley, soybeans, corn and beans. In recent years, the company has optimized the structure of sown areas, so it has not undergone significant changes.
“However, this year, spring showers significantly affected the sowing process, tightening it, because the equipment could not get to the fields,” said Anatoly Salashinsky, director of the A'Spik Group agricultural division.
According to him, 200 hectares allocated for sugar beet turned out to be problematic for Starokonstantinov's farmers after excessive spring rainfall. Partial leaching and siltation of seedlings of sugar beets were observed on them.
In addition, the corn suffered significantly from the weather. At the same time, the re-sowing of the company's crops was avoided. Now agricultural plants are in good condition. A'Spik Group employees conduct agrochemical work to protect seedlings.
In particular, sugar beet crops are treated with herbicides and pesticides to prevent weed growth and pests.
