As a result of the state support program for the agro-industrial complex, according to which Ukrainian gardeners receive the amount of compensation for the cost of seeds of domestic selection, there is a risk of a new problem for Ukrainian producers. Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva during a speech at the forum “Agroport South Kherson - 2019”.
Trofimtseva noted that existing state support programs need to be adjusted, because in some cases it is likely to cause a new problem for Ukrainian producers.
“With the new parliament, I think, it will be necessary to work actively enough at the end of this year so that by 2020 we can adjust the state support programs that we have. Let's be honest, we have a very successful gardening support program.
Thanks to her, last year we have 90% of the gardens that were planted in Ukraine, including berry plants, were planted thanks to this program of partial compensation for the cost of seedlings. But now I see a problem that will come next year or in 2 years.
Thanks to the support, there will be a lot of fresh berry production, but where should the producers get it? ” - comments the acting Minister. She says that not all gardeners can go to foreign markets with fresh produce, as well as go to supermarkets, as the volume of their production will not allow this.
"" It is necessary to develop processing - commonplace things such as drying, freezing, unite in cooperatives. If people have 5-10 ha each, they will never be able to produce consignments in order to deliver products to supermarkets or abroad.
Accordingly, the directions of state support should correspond to a comprehensive vision. And the state should help enter foreign markets, ”Trofimtseva summed up.
