According to the monitoring of farmland in southern Ukraine on March 28 this year, the condition of winter crops is assessed as satisfactory. Some farms are replanting winter crops with sunflower.
March 28, during a survey of farmers in the Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Nikolaev and Odessa regions, information was obtained on the satisfactory condition of winter crops. Respondents note that recent rain with wet snow did not have much impact on winter crops. But the low air temperature in March impedes the vegetation of plants.
Some farmers noted the unsatisfactory condition of crops. According to information from these agricultural producers, they had to partially sow winter wheat with sunflower, millet and other crops.A small number of respondents said they carried out the first treatments for winter rapeseed from weeds and fungicides from typhulosis and snow mold.
According to the survey, in some farms seedlings of spring barley, which is in the 1-2 leaf phase, have already been obtained. The first seedlings of peas were detected only in the Tatarbunarsky and Belgorod-Dniester districts of Odessa region. In other areas of southern Ukraine, low air temperatures are kept, which prevent the emergence of crop sprouts.
